An Idea

I have been thinking about my end table and what I want to do with it.  I think I have an idea.  I would like to paint the whole thing a bold, bright color.  I'm even considering orange. EEK!  I want to make this really stand out.  It's a pretty boring side table, so I'd like the design to be bold.

This is the design I'd like to paint on the side of the table.  I just can't decide what color I want the rest of the table to be.  There are too many choices. I would like it to be blue, but my walls are blue.  Also, blue is my go-to color, I really want to challenge myself to choose something crazy.

If you have any ideas, feel free to chime in!  I need some advice!

Update

This blog was in desperate need of some updating.  I've changed a few things dealing with the look of the blog, but I've also changed the name.

This blog is now titled "Virginia & Charlie."  Soon I'll be changing the link as well.

The new link will be http://virginiaandcharlie.blogspot.com.  I'm not going to do it right away, since I don't know who follows this blog, or if anyone follows it.  Part of the reason for changing the name was that the old name just didn't fit my current posts.  I wanted something more generic.

I'm happy with the new look and name.  How bout you?

Someone needs to have a baby...

I would prefer for that "someone" to be Charlotte, but anyone will do.  I made these cards over the weekend for no good reason.  I needed something to do and this was it.

I really like how they turned out.  I'm having a hard time deciding, but I think the cow is my favorite.  The monkey is pretty cute too.

I also like this little elephant.

This photo mat was also on the list of crafts this weekend.  Emily's birthday is coming up soon so I wanted to make her something special for her birthday.  I need to find a frame for it and pick a picture, but most of the work is done.

I used little foam spacers to give some dimension to the the flowers and the word friends.  I like how it turned out.  Hopefully Emily likes it as well.

The Table

This is my end table in the living room.  I ordered it off amazon.com thinking it would be a finished end table.  It's not.  It's seems that it's ready to be painted.

It serves and important purpose - it holds the remotes. Thus, it is next on my list to be redone.  I have no idea what to do with it.  I want it to be something special, not just plain paint.  If you have any ideas, let me know.

Lincoln Visit

My family came to Lincoln about a week ago to visit and see me teach.  It was really fun to have them there and show them around.  Our morning started with a tour of the school and finished with me teaching a first grade class.  It was really fun to have them there!

We got Cam started early on working out.  We want to make sure he's got very big muscles when he grows up. 

70 degrees? Yes please!

Charlie and I took a long walk today, 48 minutes total.  Thats our longest one yet.  How can you stay inside with weather like this?  The first time I did when I came home was open every window.  This apartment was in desperate need of some fresh air.

The Dog

There's not a lot to say.  You already know that my dog is the love of my life.  So here are some recent photos of my baby at her best.

A scene

Here I sit, in my wonderful bed, under my wonderful comforter watching the 13th Warrior. There is a cone on my bed, but no dog. There is a headless good on the floor beside a seal with an injured fin.

Now let me tell you, I am fully aware that the 13th Warrior completely tanked in theaters, but I love it. Part of it's worth is that I watched it for the first time with Zack. But there's more to it than just that. I really just like it. Charlie must like it too. She cocks her head every time Buliwyf yells.

As for the cone, I have no explanation. It was in here when I came to bed. Just sitting there waiting for me. Maybe Charlie wanted to make sure she had a toy in here for the evening.

It's been awhile since I've blogged so this post will be pretty random. I have several posts I've been writing in my head that just haven't made it to the computer.

I threw her toy and it got stuck behind the elephant. I'm pretty sure they a mortal enemies now. Charlie doesn't like it when you take her toys.

Shopping with Est

For some reason this picture is crooked, but please direct your eyes to the beautiful lamp on the left.  UPGRADE!

I also purchased a turtle at Ross.  If Charlie would get out of the way you could see it.

There we go.  Also, the snail is from a previous purchase.  It also needs spray painting.  I knew when I bought them that I planned on spray painting them.  They are too rustic and old looking for me.

Charlie likes the turtle better than the snail.

There, that's better.  UPGRADE!

The turtle found a home at by the door.

And Charlie decided she had been abandoned and went to bed.

My New Love

Say hello to Mineral.  She is my couch, my new love and my new nap spot.  Her color was a little more brown than I had originally wanted, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

I did a little rearranging so that the pictures would be centered over the couch.  After seeing this picture I went back to the wall and straightened all those crooked pictures.  They probably got knocked crooked by all jumping that happens upstairs.

I watched bones last night on the chair.  I pulled the ottoman up to it and reclined.  It was wonderful.  It was almost too wonderful, I started to fall asleep during the show!  That never happens.

Charlie and I took a nap on it today.  Charlie AND I.  Both of us.  Together.  We could only do that because the couch is so big!  It's amazing.
