Ah, that feels better

I couldn't stand it - so I fixed it.

It looks so much better! Ps. This is me after today.

And it's only Monday.

My bulletin board sucks and my dog is cute.

I had to make a bulletin board for school. And I'm going to have to make another one later - ugh. Let's just say, as far as homework goes - this is at the bottom of the food chain. If a bulletin board and a lesson plan were stuck in the jungle - the bulletin board would get it's butt kicked. It's just not important and I just don't have the time. I spent 3 periods today putting this loser thing up. I spent hours last night cutting out my junk.

And it still sucks.

I'm so much more creative then this - but I don't have the energy or time right now.

Aside from that - my dog is cute.

This was Charlie in the beginning of July. Notice how her body goes from the edge of the crate to the part.

This is Charlie now. Notice how her body goes from the edge of the crate all the way to the other end. She's getting so big...and brown!

I just read over this blog again to make sure it all looked ok - and man does that bulletin board suck. Maybe, if I have time, I'll fix it...cuz that is one ugly bulletin board.

I'm a Big Kid Now

I took a shopping trip to walmart today for some supplies. Made me feel like a big kid. Today I bought my first red pen - my first teacher, grading red pen.

I also got my first "real" stapler. You know - the kind of stapler that actually works. It's great.

And YES - it's a swingline!

Annnddd...I bought my first filing cabinet, well, it's a mini-cabinet.

I needed to stock up on socks. So I headed to Sam's yesterday to get some more pairs of the same socks I always get. But this time I ran into a little problem.

The socks are solid colors - now I have to match. It's gonna be rough.

A Beautiful Weekend

The weekend was wonderful. I loved every minute of it - well - until I had to start doing homework. But it was a wonderful relief to the stressful days of school.

It is 5:30 yet?

I've never been so overwhelmed in my life. I left school yesterday an emotional mess. I got all of my assignments in health until the day I leave. It was exhausting just to listen to and I'm feel like I'm in over my head.

Let's just say I knew I was feeling like an emotional mess when as I'm recounting my day to Cricket - I wanted to cry.

As a PE teacher, when you make lesson plan it will last for a few days. For example, my first lesson plan for soccer will last until Tuesday. But it's not like that for health. I need new lesson plans everyday for 2 classes. That's ten lessons a week - now - that might not seem like much. But as a new, first time, rookie teacher - I feel lost.

I taught my first two lessons today in gym and they felt like a breeze. I'm comfortable and confident in gym class. I even made my 6th graders park their little butts for 5 beautifully silent minutes because they wouldn't listen to me. Not gonna lie - I had to keep myself from smiling the whole time. You gotta be a meanie on the first day or they'll walk all over you. but that's gym and gym is easy - health is very difficult, challenging, and scary at times.

All I want right now is for it to be 5:30pm. Because when it's 5:30pm - that means I'll be at home, with Charlie, laying in bed, catching up on the 3 1/2 hours of precious sleep that I missed last night...and the night before that....and the night before that.

So is it Friday yet? Not to mention - I wouldn't mind having my rents back. I know Switzerland is cool and all - but PA has "mountains" too. And - even better - I'm in PA.

Hello Beautiful!

Frank has gotten really far on the floor. He has one wall left and some finishing touches I believe. But I'll skip all the nonsense and get to the pictures.

It's definitely something to look forward to Mom and Dad!

Dear Dad,

I get the mail everyday and there usually isn't anything good in it. All the stuff is for you or Mom, and it's usually boring. Today surprised me though. You got something quite interesting.

I saw the "Free Panty" in the upper right-hand corner and got all excited! And then all of my hopes and dreams were shattered when I realized it was for you.

But don't worry Dad, I wasn't dissappointed for long. I realized afterward that there was also one in the mail for me. I hope you don't mind if I use your coupon as well as mine.

Yeah, I didn't think you would.

Hello from PA

There has been a lot going on here. A lot. Frank has started putting in the hardwood floor and tile in the living room. They both look amazing. The tile was done on Wednesday, and lemme tell you - it was no easy task going up the stairs when you can't step on the tile.

The next thing he tackled was the floor.

Charlie didn't seem too impressed.

You must be wondering where all the furniture went - well I'll tell you - it went into the kitchen. And the kitchen went into the garage.

This was our rotten watermelon. It may not look rotten, but it is. It was all soft inside.

When I took Charlie outside to go to the bathroom, I noticed something creepy. In the picture below you'll see the nice blooming purple flowers and a nice tree. Right behind the tree is the creepy rabbit that has no eyeballs. Catch that out of the corner of your eye and you'd be creeped out too.

And since she is soaking wet I have to dry her off so she doesn't get everything dirty.

Lookin good Frank!

And this is all that Mom and Dad left for us to eat. There is no other food in the house. Guess we'll have to ration this to make it until they get home.

Hi Mom and Dad! I tried to leave a paw pring in the dust, but Charlie's paws are so hairy that it didn't work. Then she waltz into the picture and I figured that was good enough.

Hope you are having a nice trip!

We Passed!!!

Yes! Finally! All our hardwork has paid off. We passed puppy training classes. Aside from being very excited...I'm also very relieved...because now I no longer will be traveling to PetCo every Tuesday night. Charlie didn't seem too impressed though.

Since Esther always made fun of me for wanting to dress up my dog - I figured the only way to impress her was to buy a shirt she could appreciate. Then Esther surprised me by buying a shirt for Charlie all by herself. So here is my return gift.

So here's to you Est.

Unfortunatly I got it a little too small, in this one she has no room to grow. But she looks great in it.

She liked it, even if it was a little tough to get on.

She also liked the bandana. I know, I spoil her. But I'll have you know I haven't bought Charlie anything in weeks, thank you very much.

After I got Charlie, I really didn't think I would dress her up. But, um, it's fun and halloween is coming up - and I have our costume planned already.

I should just rename this blog "Diary of a Dog."

Oh No She Didn't

Can you believe it? Of all people, honestly. After all the jokes and jabs, Esther is the one to buy Charlie a shirt. I must admit - it is a very cute shirt. But Esther, I can't believe you were the first one. But I guess it makes sense - the shirt is orange.

Charlie loved it, for about 3 seconds.

And then she attacked.

So I used my spray bottle....

But it didn't seem to help.

Ps...the ghost glows in the dark.

I keep forgetting we are in Texas. Who knows why...but I do. Anway. Ya know how they say everything is bigger in Texas? Well, they were right.

Things aren't just big...they are very big.

Like the rental car, for example. It's ginormous.

But I expected that since it's a Lincoln.

It has all these crazy features that are awesome, but one thing didn't work that should have - the radio. No matter what button I pushed, or what knob I turned - the only sound we got was bass. Talk about annoying.

When we got the hotel, Mom and I were a little worried about the fact that the door leads directly outside. But then we saw the room and these beds and decided it was perfect. Infact - I'm sitting in this bed right now.

The comforter is great - it keeps my toes from falling off and that makes it a great comforter. Ya see - Mom has the ac pumping on high - so it's a little chillin in here. And by a little I mean that I can see my own breath.

We stopped to see Mom's old house. The window all the way to the left was Mom's first room. The one second to the left was Mom's next room.

We also stopped my LeTourneau to see the plaque that has Zack's name on it. It was cool to see his name there and that he is remembered.

The top of the plaque reads "In Loving Memory of our Students, Faculty, and Staff whose lives have touched our lives."

Don't do DAT

So far, school has been, well - boring. It is going to take us awhile to get started. But once we get started - we really get started. I thought I would be able to ease my way into teaching. Nope. I was wrong. When we start teaching I'll be taking over and teaching 2 units that I am currently planning myself. eek.

Lucky for me - I get to plan a field hockey unit and a cooperative games unit. Very exciting!

Health has been a little intimidating for me. I'm jumping right into planning a unit (as opposed to one lesson) and I'll be teaching next week. Once again - EEK! Health is nerve wracking for me because we don't get a lot of practice in health at school.

So far so good.

Oh, and if you are wondering what "Don't do DAT" is supposed to mean - well I'll tell you. There is a banner hanging in the gym and it really stands out because every other banner is blue, and there is only one black banner. Across the top in large letters it says "Don't do DAT." Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco. I stare at it all day.

The Final Product

It took a couple hours and lots of back pain from bending over for so long - but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Now lets just hope I don't scrape it or anything and scratch all the paint off. That could be bad.

I cleaned my room today - well - more like put my clothes away. Because I hadn't done that in about a month, my room was starting to look like a pig pen. Actually, it wasn't starting to look like a pig pen - it did look like a pig pen. So while Charlie slept - I cleaned. Dog's have a great life.

As I was cleaning I looked down and this is what I saw - my puppy asleep on the floor.

Then I took a closer look.

Ouch, that has got to hurt. Below is a video of Charlie, go figure. The reason for this video is to demonstrate for you one of Charlie's favorite past times. Spinning. It starts out innocently enough with a game of tug of war, then escalates to this -

She loves it. The faster the better - and she hasn't thrown up yet. You can tell when she wants to spin because she'll abruptly lay down during tug of war. She's a crazy dog.
